Natural Asthma Control

There are two main types of asthma, Acute Asthma which is the inflammation of the airways to the lungs.

This blockage causes the airways to contract and narrow the airways and restricts the air flow. Then there is Chronic Asthma, this is a lung condition that happens when a person has too many asthma attacks. Chronic asthma sometimes requires medicinal intervention to prevent and lessen the size and duration of the attack.

The symptoms of asthma are tightness of the chest, wheezing and couching. Shortness of breath and anxiety in some people. Why certain people get asthma and why they don’t is unclear but asthma is caused by allergens, pollutants and irritants in the air. Household dust, tobacco smoke, feathers and pollen can be triggers of an asthma attack. There is no way to predict an attack and because of that prescribed medications are given to the patient. Usually an inhaler is prescribed and some oral medications such as prednisone are given.

In addition to conventional medications some people like the added protection of herbal and natural treatments. Herbal medications often reduce the need for conventional medications but we don not recommend discontinuing any medications unless speaking to your doctor first.

Such natural remedies are Vitamin C. believe it or not experts say that Vitamin C is used to help lung function. Vitamin D3 is used as an anti inflammatory and can aid in the absorption of calcium. This is important because in some people dairy product which contain calcium aid in the build up of mucus which can block the air ways and cause difficulty in breathing.

Calcium AEP can be found in vitamin stores and health food stores. This supplement is used as a membrane stabilizer used to keep bronchiole membranes clear. As far as herbal mixture supplements, there are two great products on the market. One is called BioVent, the purpose of BioVent is to maintain an open passage to the airways and assists in keeping the lungs healthy and clear.

The second natural treatment is BronchoSoothe, this supplement works whether you have an attack or just taking your daily medications. Like BioVent is helps keep the airways open and helps loosen up the tightness in your chest as you are having an attack.

Asthma attacks can also be brought on by improper nutrition. Too much dairy can cause the mucus that can block the airways and if you don’t get proper vitamins like Vitamin C and D3 you could be at risk for an attack. If you have asthma or think you do see a doctor and ask them what they can recommend that you take in addition to your prescribed medications.

It is always important to consult your doctor before you start any natural remedies or stop any prescribed medications.
