Natural Eczema Remedies

Eczema is a condition in the form of dermatitis. It is a reoccurrence of skin rashes that applies to redness, skin edema, itching and dryness and if not treated it could have blistering, cracking and bleeding.

There are 4 different forms of eczema, the Atopic Eczema which is believed to be hereditary and runs in the family of people who also suffer from Hay Fever and Asthma.
The Itchy rash is noticeable on the face, neck, behind the knees and the inside of elbows. There is the Contact Dermatitis, this has 2 different types, the allergic eczema and the irritant.

Most common is the irritant eczema. It mainly stems from an occupational skin disease. This is a curable eczema providing that the offender can be avoided at all costs. The Xerotic Eczema is a dry skin eczema that comes from dry cold weather. This type of eczema is popular in older people. Lastly there is the Seborrhoeic Dermatitis this is another word for cradle cap found in babies and dandruff that is common in adults.

Most doctors will prescribe a topical medicine depending on how severe the case is. Oral medications may be given as well. But there is hope because there are natural treatments out there that you can try. Experts say that filtered water is better for your skin especially for those people who have eczema because of all of the pollutants in the water, clear water is better for the skin. Water itself keeps the skin hydrated and if the tap water is a factor in bad skin care then try switching and you will see a difference.

There are moisturizer creams out there that are great for the skin. Use lotions and creams that contain emollients. Emollients are substances that make the skin soft and soothes the skin when the eczema flares up. Diet and specific nutrients. Some foods actually trigger eczema such as coffee both kinds decaffeinated coffee and caffeinated coffee, Soya, eggs, nuts and even wheat.

Try using a different soap, soaps with scents and deodorants may in fact heighten the eczema. Try using a sulphur based soap. Oatmeal , plain old oatmeal , cooked and cold is a great skin soother. Maybe you want to try herbal medications, visits any health or vitamins store and try Tea Tree Oil, Evening Primrose , Calamine, Hemp Cream and Cod Liver Oil.

The thing about eczema is that once it goes away it could come and go. Stress is one of the major reasons why it would come back. Sometimes your skin and be as clear as anything and once someone brings up the subject, people get very self conscious and they begin to worry that it will come back and chances are if you are worried about it coming back it will.

It is not the end of the world and it is treatable and as long as you don’t worry about it and go on with your day to day activities then it could be a long time before you even see a re-occurrence.
