Vegetarian Diet
Sometimes vegetarians choose not to eat any food that is associated with animals such as eggs, milk, gelatin or honey. There are 4 different types of vegans. The Lacto-ovo Vegetarian, this is a person who will eat zero meats and zero dairy. A Lacto Vegetarian is a person who does not eat meat but eats dairy foods. An Ovo Vegetarian does not eat meat or eggs and a Vegan does his best to avoid eating any an all animals.
They eat no meat products, milk, cheese, eggs, honey or gelatin. A serious version of a Vegan will not wear clothes that is made by an animal such as leather, wool or silk.
Vegetarian diets are very healthy but it is very important to eat a balanced diet. As a vegetarian you need to pay more attention to what you eat because being a vegetarian will take away essential foods like the nutrients found in meats. But you could just eat extra legumes, soy food, nuts and fruits and vegetables.
Some other types of nutrients that you need are Carbohydrates. They provide energy and vitamins for your muscles and it is brain food. Products like whole grains, fruits and vegetables. These are very important to your dietary needs. Believe it or not Fat is an essential part of your diet. Fat gives the body fatty acids and fat helps the body absorb different vitamins. Vegetarians will incorporate nuts, oils and a great source in fat is avocados.
Proteins are essential to your muscles. You have to be careful to wean away from foods but not cut off the food entirely. Nuts, peanut butter, soy foods and beans are a great source of protein. Milk, yogurt and cheese for those vegetarians that eat dairy. Zinc is important for your immune system . Cereals, dairy products and legumes are a great source of zinc.
Calcium is for strong bones is important for when you get older in life. Calcium is found in milk, cheese, ice cream , juices, cereals and dark leafy vegetables are a great source of calcium. By eating any of these foods and sticking with these foods and not snacking on junk food, being a vegetarian can be a very healthy lifestyle.
They have all of the salad and fruits and vegetables as you can eat. You can still have bread as well as peanut butter and jelly and non meat types of sandwiches.
